As noted in the other sections of this site, you need to download and install the WinALDL software on a laptop for doing initial TPS settings and the final adjustment as well as conducting data logging sessions.
Setting up the WinALDL Software – Check the ECM service tag for your model #
Select the correct ECM Model#, Select the correct COM port for your laptop and set the Baud Rate to 4800 in the WinALDL software
One of the most misunderstood yet easiest components to install is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). If you don’t install & adjust it correctly, it leads to all sorts of problems when you first start the car. In order to prevent this from happening, we’ve created this easy to follow step by step video tutorial for installing and adjusting the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
NOTE: This is also the most frequently broken component due to people not following instructions and over-rotating the unit during installation. If you over-rotate and break it, you will need to get a replacement unit.
